Realistically, delaying titan for ghost armor only costs you like 5-10 days. You can clear the most tenaciously defended enemy positions very, very easily when you can flank them with total impunity. Ghost Armored Heavies with Bullet Swarm, Ghost Armored Assaults with Close Combat Specialist and Rapid Fire, Ghost Armored Supports with Sprint, hell, even Ghost Armored Snipers with Snap Shot would be worth trying. The only way I've had anyone die in Ghost Armor was if they ran out of stealth charges. This is one of the only armor sets with two Full Set Bonus on the same set. You misclicked, jumped off a platform and now you're face-to-face with a sectopod? No problem. The Armor set is cheap and very effective in Fishing due to its ability to reduce the damage received by Sea Creatures while simultaneously increasing their spawn rate. Your guy got MC'd and you regained control surrounded by muton elites? No problem. (The enemy happened to be an Ethereal, not sure if that matters.) It doesn't have the added health of, say, Titan Armor, but it more than makes up for that with stealth defense. The only thing I've found that makes it not work is standing literally right on top of an enemy while not in cover. It costs no time to activate and takes effect immediately. Ghost armor is the ultimate "oh shit" button, as it renders you 100% invulnerable to all targeted attacks for one turn. This is honestly game-breaking because it circumvents or takes advantage of the enemies' "free move" mechanic.ĭefense. You do not activate enemies while stealthed, which makes it trivial to set up devastating ambush attacks like firing rockets into un-activated groups or positioning Close Combat Specialist Assault soldiers in the middle of the enemy pack for multiple free hits. OK, Archangel for Squad Sight Snipers is obvious, but for everyone else, Ghost is just incredibly useful in so many ways. I'm having an increasingly hard time justifying putting anything but Ghost Armor on my squad.
